Having met as Music students at the Hochschule Luzern, they soon began to play together exploring many styles, including styles outside of their classical music studies. Playing Banjo and Mandola, Brendan grew up in a very traditional Irish music part of Ireland, Co Clare. He played with his father in Traditional Irish Session’s from a young age and went on to work with important Irish artists like Zoe Conway and recently Christy McNamara. Raoul grew up in Switzerland and studied Classical music from an early age and focused all his energy on his solo guitar playing, he has played in several venues around Europe including the KKL Luzern. Both musicians won several prizes for their Classical Guitar playing and received several scholarships during their studies. They lead and direct one of Europe’s exciting guitar orchestra the ‘Diversus Guitar Ensemble’. With ‘Derra’ they look for another direction, playing various types of folk tunes/songs and their own music.
